Anita Inverarity

Anita Inverarity (Click for more information)

Anita Inverarity is our resident artist here at The Inverarity Gallery, where she also curates our artist exhibitions and displays.

You can now find more art on Anita's designated website at https://anitainverarity.com and in person at the gallery. Meanwhile please enjoy our selected features.

Anita describes her work as “Universal Folk” and she is influenced by folk art, fairy tales, fables and mythology to thread a mystical dance through the traditions of the old worlds.

The highly detailed drawings are created in traditional pen and pencil mediums and have been exhibited both in the UK and international venues, which celebrate illustrative fine art and pop surreal genres. Anita's works often reflects the north east of Scotland, an area littered with standing stones and castles, brimming with magic and the inspirations of both coast and countryside.

Returning to art as a career in her early 40s, Anita has won an award with Visual Arts Scotland and has been selected for Aberdeen Artist Society Annual Exhibition at our National Galleries and Museums on several occasions. Other career highlights to date include publishing projects with US Games and Animal Dreaming, Australia, Duet Exhibits with US Artist Tammy Wampler in Nashville US and Findhorn Scotland. Recently Anita caught the eye of celebrated designer Nicky Zimmermann who is using her "Zodiac" series in the Zimmermann Fall RTW Collection "Stargazer" in 2022.

"I draw from a place of stillness and deeper connection, in every line there is an understanding and silent commune with the internal and the eternal. I have many interests and influences, but always return to a simple decorative beauty which is bestowed with my own personal language, dipping into the mystical imaginings within." - Anita.
