Kim Turner
Kim is an Australian artist who considers her works to be firmly based in the realm of faerie. Occasionally she can be found delving into some of her favourite pop surreal subjects such as Marie Antoinette, Alice in Wonderland and all manner of glamorous Circus performers too.
Kim works mainly in Acrylic and sometimes Watercolour, she is known for her wide eyed maidens and attention to detail and adornment. Influences include the PreRaphaelites, Mucha, Frouds, Alan Lee, J M Bauer and Cicely Mary Barker.
Kim says "I'm also fascinated by the evolution of how women in art are portrayed. So many have been painted to be looked at and I think it's why so many of my works are painted looking back: meeting the gaze.
Artistically, one of my greatest moments was being part of The Art of Faery and the World of Faery publications by David Riche and also joining the Bad Apple Artist Collective who keep me inspired with their monthly themed auctions on Face Book".
We hope you enjoy the beautiful collection Kim has created for us.
