Elen appears in the Welsh Mabinogion as Elen Luyddog, associated with the building of Roman roads across the land.
These ancient trackways, known as Sarn Helen, link her to movement, sovereignty, and the shaping of the landscape.

She has also come to be known as Elen of the Ways, a more mythic figure imagined as a guardian of pathways and travellers, often connected with deer and the wild trackways of the natural world.
My drawing reflects this Elen, part queen, part goddess.
A guardian of paths through forest, land, and spirit.
