Inspired by the Inuit Legend, Sedna as a young child was taken out to sea and drowned.
They cut her fingers off as she clung to the side of the kayak and she sank to the bottom of the ocean.
Her fingers became the seals and walruses and whales and she rose from the depths as a mighty creatrix of all the land and sea animals.
The Inuit worshipped her as the most powerful deity who controlled the weather and the sea and decided if they would have a successful bounty.
