The Settler was inspired by a visit to see the Galloway Viking Age Hoard in Aberdeen Art Gallery.
It reflects the discovery that travel and trade were happening in this great age on the Silk Road before migration and settlement in the area and across to Ireland.
The Settler shows pieces that blend the Christian and ancient Nordic traditions which were seen in various layers of the discovered treasure.
